NSS Unit - Shri Gavisiddeshwar Arts, Science & Commerce College

Our college has two active N.S.S units, Unit 'A' and Unit 'B', each with 100 dedicated N.S.S volunteers. Our N.S.S unit proudly serves as the Koppal District Nodal N.S.S Office under the Vijayanagar Sri Krishnadevaraya University, Bellary. The college involves dedicated NSS programme officers to track and guide community-oriented extension activities. Consistently, a maximum number of our volunteers participate in State, National, and Integration camps, as well as regular N.S.S parades and special camps.

Activities & Participation

Regular Activities

Tree Plantation and Sramadhana in campus
AIDS awareness Rallies and Pulse Polio drives
Sadbhavana Rally and Anti-Tobacco awareness campaigns
Blood group check-up and Blood donation in the local hospital
Organizing Student's Public Awareness Rallies on social, environmental, and health issues.
Annual Special Seven Days NSS Camps held in adopted neighborhood villages, educating the rural folk on government schemes.
Special awareness lecture programmes on agro-forest conservation, ozone layer protection, World Food Day, Consumer Rights Day, and legal awareness.
Active participation in national events: Independence Day, Republic Day, National Youth Day, Sadbhavana Day, and Hyderabad Karnataka Liberation Day.
Serving free food to thousands of devotees during the annual local Sri Gavimath Jatra Mahotsav.

Duties of the Unit

To plan and execute N.S.S. Programmes for the year.
To conduct Special N.S.S. camp and to submit the audited statement of accounts at the end of the year.
To distribute the work for the NSS volunteers for maintenance of cleanliness in and around the College.
To take care of campus beautification and gardening.
To maintain the records of the activities conducted and submit the same to the IQAC Committee.
